Anime.gf-CharacterAI alternative tool

A local open source alternative tool to CharacterAI that supports custom virtual characters.

Supports multiple AI service providers (including OpenAI, Anthropic, Mistral, Together AI, etc.) and allows users to customize language model generation settings and interface themes.

The next generation in local-first LLMs. Currently in active development.

Set provider, API Key, and model

• navigate to settings -> API Key -> select provider and paste your API key -> save -> navigate to Chat settings -> select same provider and select model -> save

• navigate to settings -> Persona -> New -> fill out persona details -> Create

• The release build comes with preset themes
• To edit themes, you have to download the source and manually edit the css file
• Theme editing in the app is a WIP feature!
